Non-NHS Work

In addition to the care that our doctors provide under the National Health Service, they are often asked to provide other services for which a separate charge is made. An explanatory leaflet and a list of the current charges are available for download here. Some of the more common examples are:

Medical examinations for insurance companies, employment, sporting activities and HGV or taxi driving licences.

At the time you book your appointment for a medical examination, please confirm whether the fee will be paid by your insurance company, employer etc or by you personally. These examinations take a full 30 minutes and it is essential, therefore, that you arrive on time, otherwise we may have to rearrange the appointment. If you fail to turn up or arrive late so that the appointment has to be re-booked, we may charge 50% of the fee.

Medical reports for insurance, including travel insurance, and private medical claims, childminding applications and solicitors. Opinions on fitness to attend school, exams, work, gym or to travel.

Endorsements of applications for driving licences and other documents confirming character.

Private patients are not normally taken on by this practice.

Visitors from abroad are usually seen on a private basis and charged the appropriate fees. NHS care is generally only available to current residents of the UK. Our receptionists can give more information if necessary

Payment method - please note we are unable to accept credit/debit cards so please render settlement by cash or a cheque supported by the appropriate guarantee card.
